Closed

Yesterday Fuller was better after his attack of the stomach monkeys, so I dragged him around town as a reward. Well, probably not a reward so much (I'm such a funny mommy!), since he decided to become a little twit in each store. And he got worse in each store.

To help lighten his mood, I took him to McDonald's for lunch, with the promise of getting to play on the playground. But first he had to eat. When he finished (and the term "finished" is relative) we got up to go outside and the door was LOCKED. We have had some rain in past few days, but really it wasn't wet out there yesterday afternoon. Cold, yes. Wet? No.

Since it was the afternoon lunch rush I didn't feel like bugging a manager to unlock it, so we left with Fuller in full on disappointment mode.

Fortunately the memory of a 3 year old appears to be the equivalent of a gold fish and he was in a happier mood for the next and final store. (The toy from his happy meal helped keep him occupied.)

Fuller is an awesome kid and I am sorry he didn't get to play on the playground, but here is my confession: I'm kind of glad the playground was closed.

It was cold and while Fuller had his coat, I didn't. And I dreaded the moment I would have to leave with Fuller kicking and screaming, "Slide! Slide!" We were getting close to nap time, and I wanted to just get to the last store, turn in my prescriptions, and get home.

Fuller is an awesome kid and I know I will make it up to him somehow, someday. But sometimes, it ends up about what works for Mommy and yesterday I think the playground being closed was a little blessing.

Today we are homebound (Daddy took Mommy's car to work), so it can be all about Fuller. We don't have a playground in house but we do have trains and playdough.
