Canned Chicken
This afternoon's lunch will be one of our freezer meals from My Family Dinners. It is Canned Chicken, which is a first for me. It involves a whole chicken which has been rubbed down with spices (I did that back in September before freezing) and is now standing upright over a can of Coke in the oven.
Usually we cook our whole chickens in the rotisserie. It seems faster and really gets the juices flowing. But it seemed like to get the whole experience, I needed to cook this in the oven.
I also could have switched it up and used beer (someone left some here after a visit) but Damon is sensitive to alcohol in food (he doesn't like the taste), so I stuck with the Coke.
Anyone ever try cooking a chicken like this? I have about an hour and half more to go before I taste it.
Heehee. I cant get the mental image of the bird perched jauntily balanced on a literal can of Coke out of my mind.
