Rain delay

We were going camping this weekend, but on Thursday we took a look at the proposed forecast and decided to stay home. At 4:30 this morning, I was really glad I was safe in my bed with the comfort of a roof over my head. The storm that came through was loud and torrential. I couldn't sleep for all the thunder, but the storm finally passed around 5:15, so I went back to bed.

It has been drizzling on and off all morning, so I think we made the right decision.

This camping trip would have been the first trip that we took as a family that didn't involve some of our extended family, another reason why I didn't want it ruined by rain.

We do have other travel plans in the works, though.

In August, my sister will be having her baby, my new niece or nephew. We are planning on going to Florida to visit them and meet the new baby (or as Fuller says, "BAY-bee!"), probably in September. Damon keeps talking about making it into a real vacation, with some fun in Orlando as well.

The last time Damon and I visited Orlando, we were on our honeymoon eight years ago. We did Epcot and Universal, but I think there are some other things we missed out on.

There is this Pirates Dinner Show in Orlando that looks really fun. You get dinner (chicken, pork, or seafood) and a Broadway-quality show. Pirate themed, of course.

We can get discounted tickets (prices shown are with taxes included), at $ $37.95 per person. (Fuller would still be free!) Remember, that is dinner and a show. Sounds decent to me.

Maple Leaf Tickets is a site where you can get discounted tickets to anything in Orlando. They have been in business 22 years and have contracts with all the major attractions in Orlando. And, I really like how they do price matching. If you find Pirate Dinner Show tickets at a lower price (after tax, since Maple Leaf Ticket prices include the tax), they will match the price.

Maybe we can coincide our visit to Orlando with Talk Like a Pirate Day, with is September 19th. That would be fun.
