Another new appliance
I need more people to come and visit me. My house is clean, ya'll. Clean. Clean, clean! As in, de-cluttered, vacuumed, and shiny. Anyone can feel free to drop in on us, I will not be ashamed.
The reason for this sudden bought of cleanliness is two-fold:
The first is the company we had Thursday night for dinner. Our friends the Eshees came and joined us for shishkabobs (with chicken and shrimp). It didn't matter that my arms broke out in hives from shelling the shrimp, we had a blast hanging out with them and cooing over their 6 month old, Mattie Jane. She is so pretty! And Fuller was very interested in the "Bay-bee!"
The second reason for the cleanliness is a bit of a lifestyle change. Fuller calls it an "e-bot," but you and I would call it Roomba.
The folks over at iRobot had a Mother's Day special going on and Damon has been reading up on Roombas and their recent improvements. So we decided that a portion of our tax rebate could be spent on the robot for our floor. (Unexpectedly we had to use another portion of our rebate on the new fridge.)
One of the improvements is how the Roomba works on pet hair. We have a pet that sheds, plus one human (me), so we were curious how well it would do. One of my friends had an earlier generation Roomba and one of her complaints was that it would leave the dog hair on the edge of the carpet. Well, we don't have that problem at all. It gets the pet hair and lots of other stuff too.
I call it this a lifestyle change because we have to keep our stuff- shoes, toys, clothes, tools- picked up and out of the way to run the Roomba. We decided that if we were going to buy one that we were going to make sure it gets used and maintained. So far we have used it eight times in the last four days. We even used it this morning to spot clean an area to make sure we got up the last of the glass from a glass Fuller broke. A plus is that the Roomba is really easy to clean.
Along with the chore buster, having a Roomba looks like it is really helping us out in wanting to keep clean. So, come on over!
how cool is that. I need one of those. how much does one cost?
