Extended family fun

It has been fun watching Fuller interact with his cousins. He and Nick (who is 4) are hitting it off, running around and making lots of noise.

He isn't quite sure what to think about the new cousin, Olivia. She is only 3 months old and he recognizes her as "baby." He got a tad jealous this morning when I was holding her. He said, "No Mommy, no baby. No baby, no."

Then this evening, at dinner, I was holding Olivia again and he tried to climb into my lap. So I handed Olivia over to Albert and tried to pull Fuller into my lap for a cuddle. But he quickly got down and went over to Albert to try and sit in Albert's lap. So Albert handed Olivia over to Linda, and Fuller got to eat Albert's leftover french fries.

But he must be ok with Olivia on some level because on the way home from dinner, she started to cry from exhaustion. She didn't want to eat or be comforted by her paci. Her cries got louder and louder. Fuller was sitting to her left and started to talk to her in Fuller-babble, with the word "baby" thrown in often. Then he reached down and held her hand, while she drifted off for a short nap.

See this picture of my little sister? That bump is another cousin for Fuller. I can't wait to see how they play together and the things that Fuller can show him or her. Maybe he can teach the new cousin to share or color outside the lines.

Tomorrow Fuller and Nick will fight over toys, bump heads (again), and laugh even louder than today. In July they will splash in the lake and feed the ducks together. This weekend is just a taste of things to come, but it is so much fun to watch.
