The madness is coming!

Fuller is an Auburn fan! When I was a kid we took vacations, but nothing that was a consistent family thing. We did this big one month camping trip when we lived in Arizona . When we lived in New York we drove to the Outer Banks for a family reunion. (That was the year Hurricane Bob hit the Outer Banks- it was quite the way to start the reunion.) And I can't forget the European trips we took when we lived in Germany- New Year's in Italy, Christmas in England. They were all so memorable.

Well, D grew up a bit differently. They didn't take a ton of vacations because they had the lake house when they needed to get away. But there are two trips that Damon remembers from his childhood.

One summer they took a trip around the country seeing all the typical touristy sites. And then there were the trips they took to see the SEC tournament in March. D's parents would take the kids out of school and then they would go and support Auburn for the weekend.

The trips to the SEC tournament were something that Damon really wanted to pass a long to his family and so we have been going since 2000. We only missed last year due to lack of tickets, but this year we are set.

My in-laws now are Auburn supporters which gives them preferential tickets for the tournament. And a few weeks ago we decided exactly which hotel to stay in (D had reservations at three different places), so the plans are in place. We are getting really excited.

But this excitement comes with some hesitation. Fuller is no longer a docile six month old who will sleep through anything. He is a very active two year old and I have no idea how he will do at the games. Will he sit in his seat? Will he be scared of the noises? Will he get on TV? Will he be embarrassed to be Elvis's son?

Tonight we are headed to the UTC Moc's basketball game to test him out. If anything it will be fun and it will give us a taste of what is to come.

I thought the UTC MOCs stood for Water moccasin, a snake not a bird? Or did do what Auburn did - have a tiger and a War Eagle?

Moc is for Mockingbird- the state bird of TN. According to their website, the water moccasin was used back in the 20s, b4 a politically incorrect Indian was used. It changed to the bird in 1997.

Also, Auburn only has one mascot- the Tiger. "War Eagle" is their battle cry. The actual eagle they fly at games is an embodiment of the battle cry, but not the mascot. No, I don't understand it either.

We were there when Auburn beat Alabama in OT winning the championship while playing four games in four days (not an easy feat).
