Self Portrait Sunday: The Magic Scarf
My self portrait today was inspired by a gift given to me by my mother-in-law: a magic scarf.
We got another package this week, from Linda, with some Auburn related gear- license plates, stocking caps, and this SpiritMaker Magic Scarf. I have seen the scarves in various malls, and they are luxuriously soft, but never reached out and purchased one. Now I am really excited to have it. There are eight different drawings on the package telling me all the different ways I can wear my magic scarf. In this picture I am attempting the third arrangement.
Linda suggested that I make some, but I know that the cost of the yarn and the amount of time it would take me to actually produce would not be any cheaper than what she paid for mine. I think I will let the Koreans keep making them for now.
If you want to participate in Self Portrait Sunday, then go ahead, there is no official sign up. Just post a picture of yourself (you don't even have to have words around it like me), and then go to Cass's site and leave a comment in today's entry, letting her know you participated. It is so much fun.
And Cass looks so pretty today! Would you believe that she has 8 kids? And she knits and crochets, a lot. Maybe I could check out the Raleigh North Carolina Real Estate market and move near her and learn how to knit. Then I could take those Koreans on in the Magic Scarf market. Of course, that wouldn't be too cost effective either.
I saw those magic scarfs for the first time this Christmas. They are kinda neat. Completely unmanly, IMHO, so I won't be wearing one, but they are a cool idea nonetheless.
Thanks for the belated birthday wish!
And speaking of thankfulness - YOU'VE BEEN TAGGED!

Posted by: suni at February 12, 2007 12:37 PMThose scarves are pretty neat... I like playing with them. I would attempt to make one if I knit, but I only crochet, and I think the stitches would be too tight to pull it off
