Office present

Today work is going to be a bit on the side of crazy. There will be the people who are rushing to get out early and therefore mess up their computers or attitudes and then after noon it will die down to nothing...

We have been celebrating all week with food to nibble on in between the crazy. It has been kind of festive, but today might be a bit of a downer with most of the department gone.

We had our office luncheon/ gift swap on Tuesday and it was fun, with lots of laughter during the Dirty Santa game. There was a set of shot glasses that kept getting stolen, which was surprising because when it was opened I thought it would die with the opener. I managed to hold on to a Blockbuster gift card for most of the game, but right at the end it was stolen from me. I got to take home a set of family games (checkers, chess, backgammon, etc) which I think will be useful at my inlaws' Lake House. We need something more than watching TV to keep us busy.

But if I could have any gift at the office, it would be new office chairs for our team. I have a chair with ripped arm rests and every once in a while they will catch my clothing, making me think "Great, now I ripped my shirt."

Someone from our office furniture vendor has been out to my cubicle three times now. And each time they say, "Oh, we don't have that style arm with us." Or they have a confused look on their face as to where they should be. It is getting frustrating.

I wish I could just go get my own chair (the higher ups say we can't get new chairs... only have them repaired) and bring it in. Great Priced Furniture has a home office section that I have browsed many times. And their office chair selection is very extensive and tempting.

It would take about two weeks to get to me, I wonder if I could just have it delivered to my cubicle? I would get this arm chair, which has a retro look that I like and nothing on the arms to get ripped up.

But I guess I have to stick with what workplace offers me. Maybe I will get some duct tape. That will be classy.
