There's probably a reason they didn't have this when I was a kid.

Marvel Comics and Guiding Light (yes, the soap opera) are teaming up to introduce a new hero on the show that will then be a Marvel superhero. "What a cool idea", I thought. Man, if they had done this when I was a kid, I would have definitely started watching GL, just to see if they occasionally threw in a superhero reference from time-to-time.

Well, it seemed like a good idea until I watch the trailer for the episode.

I bet Marvel thought this idea would somehow lend more "ligitamacy" to their comics with the adult (probably mostly female) demographic. But, after seeing the level of acting in the trailer, I think Marvel should stick with the younger male audience 'cause they obviously have higher standards of storytelling.

Who would have though that when compared to a comic book, a show aimed at entertaining adults would actually seem more juvenile?

(That said, I'm still gonna watch it.)
