The story of the never-ending boo-boo

booboo.jpgAs some of you have noticed, Fuller had a band-aid under his right eye for the past few days. I left a quick comment on the DFF to explain that the blood blister under his eye had burst, but really that doesn't give it justice.

When we were at Lake Martin for Labor Day, Fuller fell (while sitting on the floor!) and hit his cheek on the coffee table. It burst the blood blister and it bled a little bit.

Last Thursday it burst again only this time, it was not a little bit of blood. It was a lot of blood that he wasn't too keen on having cleaned up. D tried a cold compress, but Fuller was having none of that.

After a few band-aids it finally stopped and we put Fuller to bed.

Friday morning my heart stopped when I went into Fuller's room to discover he was covered in blood (and I had to leave the house in the next 5 minutes). Damon took over while I put the sheets in the wash.

Let me tell you, there is nothing like seeing your child covered in blood. It's one of those things in parenting that you kind of want to erase from your memory. But I don't think there is enough alcohol in the world to help with that.

Saturday Fuller woke up and the bandaid had been removed. He wasn't bleeding, so we let him go about his business. Then we went shopping and while Fuller was hanging out in the stroller he got bored and started picking his face. In the middle of the store, our son had blood pouring from the tiny blister once more.

He wore a bandaid until Monday when the blister finally healed over. We still have to watch him carefully to keep his hands off his face.

Fuller goes to the doctor in a few weeks, so we plan on finding out how the blister can be removed. Until then, we just call him Cindy Crawford.
