Time flies
When I was younger, I think in 1st grade, I remember a day where I got up, went to school, came home and then suddenly it was time for bed. I was acutely aware that it seemed like time went by very quickly that day.
Soon after that day I gave a school yard lecture to some of my friends on how to make time fly. As a learned 6 or 7 year old, I had had an ephiphany that yes, we could speed up time and this skill was useful on days where we couldn't wait for something to happen- like my upcoming slumber party.
I remember (vaguely) that I said something like just keep playing hard and just forget about whatever it was that we were waiting for and suddenly it will be time for that slumber party!
I had another one of those days again. I woke up, went to work, and suddenly it was 4:25. I worked out (100 crunches!), went home, ate, and played "Where's Fuller?" with the baby for about 30 minutes. And now, it is almost 9 pm.
I'm so glad that I listened to that first grader in me. Because when I woke up at 6 this morning, I had no idea how I was going to get through this day.
