Fly Lady, Day 2, Get dressed to lace up your shoes

I remembered FlyLady when I read Tulip Girl’s resolutions yesterday. I think the first time I heard about her was actually from Uncle Bob. My SIL also mentioned it at some point. And a while ago someone mentioned another family that we know also lives by the FlyLady’s emails and that actually was a big block wall for me. I didn’t want to do another thing that that particular family did. I mean we do collect yogurt cups because of them. And now I want a clean house like them too?

But yesterday, I got over myself (besides I always have wanted to be like that family… isn’t this a step the right direction?)

I work from home now. All. day. long. I have to work in this mess, not just live in it. I have to do something. So, when Tulip Girl reminded me of Fly Lady’s existence, I signed up.

I am signed up and jumped into the babysteps. Last night I shined my sink. Today I got up, showered, dressed, and put on shoes. Fly Lady has this shoe thing, where it helps you mentally be awake for the day. I didn’t really “fix my face” as suggested, but I kept my shoes on.

Today I got an email from “Kelly” telling me to clean my entryway, but I don’t have one of those. So instead we installed shelves in the laundry area (which is close to our back door that we use the most) making it a Fuller safe zone and more organized and less cluttered.

From what I have gathered, getting started by accomplishing small tasks is a big hook to keep you in the program. And since I accomplished this goal of installing the shelves and reorganizing the laundry/ cleaning supplies, I think I can say I am still hooked.

And my sink is still shiny.

I don't think I would like this one, I don't like wearing shoes, so if I were home all day that would bother me. I don't wear shoes for the most part on the carpet. I'm sure excuses aren't allowed huh??

Tif, that would be considered whining according to flylady.
