holi-DAZE
This weekend was great. Busy, but great. And then this morning happened. Throwing up before 7:30 is not a great way to begin the week. And talking about throwing up isn't a great way to begin a weekend recap.
So, starting over.
Friday evening was the event that Chattanooga fought hard to get- the NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship. It has been here for the last two years and this year was the biggest attendance yet. We were able to wrangle some free tickets and as Josiah has already reported- Big Foot and Santa were there.
Ladies, if you ever find out that your husband has a Big Foot costume in your attic, first raise your eyebrow and then say calmly, "Sure dear, protesting the BCS in a Big Foot costume sounds like a great idea." I'm just grateful that Josiah agreed to be Santa because if he wasn't in on it, I probably would have been in a Tooth Fairy costume wearing my own protest sign.
I won't go into the whole BCS protest thing. That is really Damon's area of expertise. If it were up to me to explain it, it would go something like:
"The BCS system is bad."
Why?
"Because Damon said so."
Seriously, it was a fun evening. Pictures are over on Flickr.
Saturday evening was the 3HD Christmas Party. Three of the last four years the guys have gotten together an Iron Chef party. The way that works is a theme ingredient is picked and each person/ family attending the party will bring a dish with that ingredient. There are two appetizers or side dishes, two main entrees, and two desserts.
This year the main ingredient was nutmeg. Our family was assigned an appetizer and we brought Swiss Cheese, Spinach, & Bacon Tarts. Instead of making our own crusts we just used premade phyllo dough tartlet shells.
It was a fun evening of friends and relaxation. The business paid for a sitter upstairs, so we were pretty relaxed while the kiddos did their thing on the second floor.
Pictures from the Iron Chef party are here.
And Sunday we celebrated Christmas at a party hosted by a client of 3HD's at the Creative Discovery Museum. Fuller had a blast playing in the different exhibits, but he really, really found enjoyment in the Little Yellow House where spent many minutes opening and closing the gate.
Pictures for that fun event are here.
It was a great weekend. Now, I hope the rest of the week goes as well. I mean, except for the part where I was sick today. The searing headache I could do without. Let's go for a better day tomorrow.
Hope U R better today, dad
