Hit and Run Update, Part Deux
Officer Bolton, one of the police officers working on Damon's case, just called. He informed us that they caught the man who was driving the truck.
From what we gathered the man driving the truck was the actual owner of the truck. He panicked and reported the truck stolen but after interrogation he confessed that he was the driver.
The man was charged with leaving the scene, driving without a license, etc. and Damon has been asked to possibly appear at the hearing. The driver has no insurance. The officer indicated that the case would probably plea bargained and a repayment schedule would probably be made part of the agreement.
So, I guess we will get some sort of repayment or maybe at the very least, Damon can request that he get the guy's truck, which we could sell for something.
CSI and Law and Order- eat your heart out.
That is awesome.

Posted by: bobw at December 2, 2005 08:58 PMWow, what an ending! This was the first I heard about the accident. I feel so out of the loop. I have to do a better job of keeping in touch. Glad you weren't hurt, bro. Sorry about the scooter.
Posted by: vsatt at December 2, 2005 10:06 PMI'm so glad that they found the driver.
Posted by: austina at December 2, 2005 10:45 PMThat was the first thing your Dad thought about. We were going to ask what time it was reported stolen. Yeah, go for the truck. I doubt you'd receive any payments.
Posted by: Grandma Linda at December 3, 2005 08:10 AMIt would be even better if you got his truck and drove it by his house every day on your way to work. Or, maybe his mobile home...
Posted by: Chris at December 3, 2005 10:55 AMJust got back in town and this is the first I've heard of this - VERY glad you are okay. Hope the remainder of the recovery goes well.
