Of weekends and illness, of health and progress
Fuller is taking a late nap, which may or may not affect his bedtime tonight. We took him to church this morning and then he practically begged us to put him down for his morning nap at 10. We woke him up at 1 so we could grab lunch and do some errands. He was pretty normal while we made our way from Sam's, Toys R Us, and Babies R Us... and when we got him home, he played for a short while before begging to take another nap.
Fuller has been dealing with a mild cold all week, which hasn't really interrupted his lifestyle much. The only irritation seems to be the people who keep trying to attack his nose and wipe the snot from his face. Sure he drools, coughs, and sneezes a bit, but really, he is the same old Fuller walking around the house, giggling and babbling with joy.
The mild cold that Fuller has also gotten into my system, and I hit my major miserable mark last night, while Auburn was whooping up on Alabama. I finally took something while I fed Fuller dinner. I always have a fear of cold or sinus medication making me drowsy- regardless of the non-drowsy label. Well this stuff (Tylenol Cold) dried me up and sent me to bed around 9. However this morning, while I still feel a bit stuffy, I can tell I am on the mend.
Being on the mend is a good thing. The countdown to Thanksgiving vacation is nearing the final hours. We leave on Tuesday, when we fly to Florida. Hence the running around this afternoon.
And if you are asking why we had to run around today, Sunday, well our excuse is that yesterday we had Damon's dad over to help with our neverending home improvement project- restoring the windows. As my mother would say, our ox was in the ditch.
Albert assisted us three weeks ago with some scraping and sanding, and then he took the sashes back to Lake Martin to finish scraping, sanding, reglazing, and priming them. So yesterday, when he came back the window sashes were ready to paint, dry, and install. However our labors only allowed the painting and drying process. In two more weeks Albert will return and help re-install the sashes, with the new weatherstripping that Damon purchased a month ago.
Yesterday our day began at 6:30 and ended for me at 9.
Tomorrow is the final day to prepare for our trip. Somehow I know it will all be done- work, packing, and getting the house ready for our absence. Until we fly on Tuesday, I will be making lists, checking them twice, and making sure Fuller has all he needs to remain the cutest little boy in the world. That last part will be the easiest.
Wow, try reading that all in one breath. Have a good thanksgiving!!!!!
