Project Dining Room: Someone tell me how McKay's works
This week Damon finished building the beautiful bookshelves that grace our dining room walls. (Pictures will come later.)
Today we have spent a lot of time freeing our books from their temporary homes in the attic. (By temporary I mean the last 5 years.) While rediscovering those books, we have been weeding out the books that are no longer relevant (Knight in Shining Armour: Discovering Your Lifelong Love by P.B. Wilson or Basic Marketing, Eighth Edition by some cats named E. Jerome McCarthy & William D. Perreault, Jr.) or some books that we no longer need (how many John Grisham novels do we really need in the house? Answer: None!).
Anyway, we thought that maybe McKay's Used Books would be a decent way to offload the extras, but we are not sure how it works. Anyone care to share?
It's easy. Take your Books to McKay, and right inside is the drop-off desk. You receive a numbered ticket and wait, shop, or whatever while they go through your old goods. When they're done, they'll call your number over the loud speaker. Of course you get a fraction of what they will sell them for, or if they think they can't sell them at all, they'll offer them back to you or toss them in the free bin (your choice). Then you get to choose between credit or cash. With credit you always get a bit more than the cash.
If you take a lot of books and don't want to take the time to wait, you can tell the 'intaker' that you want to drop them off and come back later for your trade credit or cash.
