The Adventures of Fuller and the Granny Nanny, the Finale
Traveling to Boston with a baby was not too bad.
Traveling home from Boston with a baby was not fun.
I don't have great travel experience with the part where I am trying to fly home. I usually get sick or have a massive headache. Yesterday was no exception.
We got to Logan Airport very early, but when I looked at our tickets, something had happened and they had split up my mom and me. And we were on a plane that had three seats on each side, which meant that some lucky person was going to have to endure the flight with Fuller by his or her side.
Fortunately the people at the counter were able to switch something and Granny Nanny and I were able to sit together. Unfortunately the flight was very full and there was someone sitting next to me, which made me tense about how my son would behave and if he would be a disturbance.
Fuller was ok. I just had a headache and wanted to sleep. He slept, I didn't. I did watch an episode of Joey and some expose on not for profit hospitals who have millions of dollars that someone thinks they shouldn't have.
We left Logan late and arrived in Atlanta late, making it a close call to get from concourse A to concourse D in time for our flight to Chattanooga.
That flight was also full (and already boarded) when we got top the gate, so we couldn't fix our tickets to make it so GN and I could sit next to each other. But a really nice guy switched seats with GN and we were in row 12, with Fuller in my lap, ready to fly for 24 minutes and get home to D.
Well, that guy should be really happy that he switched seats. We had to sit on the runway for 20 minutes and during that time Fuller filled his diaper (with a little spillage onto his clothes). GN got a whiff of it and well, I have to say I am glad that she got that whiff and not the man who should have been sitting next to me.
Obviously we arrived in Chattanooga ok and miraculously our luggage did too. We thought since our Boston flight was late that our luggage wouldn't have enough time to make it to the new airplane, but it did.
The GN is doing a little bit more duty today since D had to head to Dalton for a trade show and I had to come into work for a few hours.
I know that I wouldn't have been able to go to the conference without my mom and even though it was not a great idea to take Fuller with me, I appreciate that she made the trip with me. She gets to enjoy her role as Grandma and I get some motherly wisdom in how to care for my son.
The adventures of Fuller and the Granny Nanny have ended on a happy note.
