Truth in advertising

PNSO-wmW.jpg Please take a look at this picture and tell me what is wrong.
More importantly, what is missing? What does this carefree, smiling, lactating woman not have with her?

The answer is at least two other bags.

I love the breastpump that Michelle loaned me for the duration of Fuller’s breastmilk diet. It works well and quickly, does not hurt, and is conveniently packaged in a case that does not scream “Breastpump! Lactating woman arriving at work!”

But now that I am making the daily trek from my house to work, I have to carefully plan what I need to take with me. I leave the house at about 9:30 am. To get out the door I have Fuller in his infant seat, his diaper bag, the breastpump, and my bag with work folders, magazines (to read while I pump), my purse, and lunch.

I wish I had two more arms. At least I give up the diaper bag and infant carrier when I hand Fuller over to D. But even the walk from the office to my car in the afternoon is an excercise in mule packing- the bag with my work stuff and purse isn't really the most user friendly bag. It won't hang off my shoulder properly. And the strap for the pump isn't long enough to sling over my shoulder and across my chest.

So, maybe Medela needs some truth in advertising. Give that lady a purse, at least!

Alicia- haha-- I had to laugh because I remember being that freaked when Jade was tiny about ALL the STUFF I had to carry!!!! Well--exciting newsflash-- at almost 2 1/2 my son can now carry some of his OWN stuff...YAY!!!!... BUT-- Now there are the toys... the little cars... the books.... the anything and everything tiny....the pullups...the extra clothes... the little cars... the stickers...the Elmo dolls-- Yes- there are TWO of them!...the juice cups... the snacks... and did I mention-- the little cars??? Tiny and treacherous, these Hotwheels are everywhere- including my purse!!!!! Hey now--it gets easier.
You get used to it! I remember the days of lugging the pump back and forth-- yikes-- but its a distant memory now! Hang in there! Soon Fuller will be almost 2 1/2 and you, too, will find a little purple car stuck to the end of your car keys.

The nanny is carrying the other bags. And the baby. In fact, Princess here never sees her child, because she's too busy running between the gym, photo shoots, and her cosmetic surgery to see much of little Travis. Or was it Trevor? She forgets.

Is this a bitter and cynical blog comment? Sorry... I'll go take my medication now.
