Alli's 101 Things
1. I was born in Lexington, Virginia.
2. My address was 501 S. Main Street.
3. We moved to Mesa, Arizona when I was 7.
4. We lived in three different houses.
5. We moved to Plattsburgh, NY when I was 12.
6. We moved to Glienkirchen, Germany when I was 15.
7. I am a pastor’s daughter.
8. I am a military brat.
9. I moved to Lookout Mountain, GA when I was 17, to go to college.
10. I moved to Chattanooga, TN when I graduated from college in 1998. It’s a ten minute drive from Lookout Mountain, GA.
11. I started playing the violin when I was four.
12. I quit playing violin when we moved to Germany and there was no one to teach me.
13. I often wish I still played violin.
14. I still have my violin, stored on my side the bedroom, waiting...
15. My first experience playing soccer (that I remember) was when I was five (I think) and my parents took me to the game, told me I was on the team, and put me in the game.
16. Soon after I was on the field I took a ball to the stomach and got the wind knocked out of me.
17. I played tennis, starting when I was in sixth grade. Or was it fifth?
18. Mrs. Annette Wallace got me started playing tennis.
19. Mrs. Wallace would take me to her country club to play.
20. Mrs. Wallace gave me a Guess bag for memorizing the first Psalm.
21. My first best friend was Khristie Edwards.
22. My second best friend was Eileen Knepple. Her parents owned a laser disc player.
23. My third best friend was Stephanie Wallace. We fought a lot.
24. My fourth best friend was Jennifer Clark.
25. My best friend now is Esther Wilhelm.
26. I have four cabbage patch dolls- 2 boys and twin girls.
27. I used to pretend they were my children.
28. When I was home taught for two years, I pretended I was at boarding school.
29. I used to want to go to boarding school.
30. The first movie I went in a theater to was a special showing of “The Wizard of Oz."
31. I don’t remember it.
32. I am told that I had nightmares featuring the flying monkeys.
33. The only nightmares that I really remember having involved clowns and swimming.
34. The first movie that I remember seeing in a theater was “ET."
35. The first boy I kissed was Jeremy Crozat.
36. I was a varsity cheerleader at my first high school.
37. I had a very loud voice, deep from the bottom of my stomach.
38. I was a yearbook groupie my freshman year.
39. My sophomore year I was on the yearbook staff.
40. My senior year I was the editor of the yearbook.
41. I also managed to be in the drama club all four years of high school.
42. I played tennis at my second high school.
43. I learned to drive in Germany, around a potato field. Or was it a sugar beet field?
44. I started smoking my junior year in high school.
45. I was a sucker for peer pressure.
46. I stopped smoking the week after I graduated from high school.
47. I admit that sometimes I miss smoking.
48. But I wouldn’t ever start again. It really, really stinks.
49. I once bummed a menthol cigarette from one of the German students in my school and got so sick I had to lay down on the floor of the bathroom until I threw up.
50. In high school I was really, really stupid.
51. I grew up watching All My Children.
52. When we lived in Germany my aunt would mail us 6-8 hour video tapes of All My Children and we would sit down and watch the story lines that we liked the most, fast forwarding through the ones we didn’t care about.
53. When I was in fourth grade, my bike was stolen from my school.
54. I once faked a book report on the book, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
55. I really reported on the TV movie, which starred Hot Lips from MASH.
56. My real name is not Alli.
57. I got the nickname Alli when I was in tennis camp, in fifth grade.
58. It is easier to pronounce than my real name, so I started telling people to call me Alli.
59. I added the extra L.
60. If I were to ever publish something I would go by my real name.
61. I have no current plans to publish anything.
62. I would really like to go back to Lexington, Virginia and see how it all looks today.
63. I once went to a yearbook conference in Luxembourg and at said conference purchased some alcohol to take home with me.
64. I hid the alcohol in my bed.
65. My parents found the alcohol when they made my bed one night.
66. I already said I was stupid in high school.
67. I developed a serious crush on The New Kids on the Block the summer before eighth grade.
68. I loved Joey Macintyre.
69. I had an entire wall covered in posters of NKOB.
70. I have been to England.

84. I had a turtle named Olivia.

86. I have had one miscarriage.
87. Dealing with infertility was one of the worst roller coaster rides I have ever been on.
88. I really, really hope that when the time comes, we get pregnant really, really easily.
89. I tend to watch TV with the closed captioning on.

91. I can’t wear contacts because I have extremely dry eyes.
